1 Firstly, I would like to thank Prof. Duncan Steel for all the help and support he has given me during my time at the University of Michigan. He has played a large role in getting me where I am today. I can only hope to have a mentor as good as he is during my time in graduate school and beyond. Also, I am very grateful for all the support from my labmates, and all the knowledge I have gained from working with them. I especially would like to thank John Scaibley and Alex Burgers with whom I collaborated for this work.
